Max Macchioni Accepts NHL Development Camp Invite, Re-Signs with Bobcats for '26-27

WYTHEVILLE, VA-

The Blue Ridge Bobcats, proud members of the FPHL, are proud to announce the club has re-signed Goaltender Max Macchioni for the 26-27 season, and announce he's been invited to participate in the Boston Bruins (NHL) Development Camp this week. Macchioni is now the first player in franchise history to be invited to and participate in an NHL development camp.

The 6'0" 190lb netminder shined in his first two professional starts last season, winning both plus posting a 3.01 GAA and .908 SV% in his first pair of pro appearances.

The North Kingstown, Rhode Island native also put up stellar numbers at the NCAA DIII collegiate level before joining the Bobcats upon graduation from Fitchburg State University last spring. Over four seasons with the Falcons, Macchioni compiled a 2.69 GAA and .919 SV%.

"We are incredibly proud that Max will be representing our organization at Bruins development camp, and very excited to welcome him back to our club for the upcoming season," said head coach and general manager Vojtech Zemlicka.

"Max showed us quickly the high caliber of play he possesses and is more than deserving of this opportunity with Boston. He's a terrific talent and an even better person off the ice. We feel he's only scratched the surface of what he's truly capable of between the pipes and cannot wait to see what he can do in his first full pro season, as well as what knowledge and skills he can bring from his experience with the Bruins."

Season tickets are on sale now to see Macchioni and the rest of his Bobcats teammates when they hit the #HitachiEnergyArena ice this October at blueridgebobcats.com/26-27-season-tickets #DigIn #HereWeRoar #FearTheClaw
