WYTHEVILLE, VA

Veteran hybrid Forward/Defenseman Daniel Martin has joined the Blue Ridge Bobcats for the rest of the 2023-24 season. Martin, who was released by the Carolina Thunderbirds on October 24th, brings a wealth of experience and production to the Bobcats roster.

The Ottawa, ON native has registered 159 career points in 222 career FPHL games (including playoffs). Martin racked up 59 points in 59 games (22 goals, 37 assists) in his first full season in the league with the Danville Dashers in 2018-19.

Martin was one of the scoring leaders for the Thunderbirds in 2019-20, stacking 17 goals and 17 assists (34 points) in the 40 games before the COVID-19 pandemic forced cancellation of the remainder of that season. Last season with Carolina, Martin posted 26 points (4 goals, 22 assists) in 59 games (including playoffs).

Martin joins former Thunderbirds teammates Brice French and Cody Oakes in Blue Ridge, providing added chemistry to an already gelling roster.

Martin will be in the lineup this weekend when the Bobcats host the Mississippi Sea Wolves for Veteran's Appreciation Weekend at the Apex Center. Tickets are available for both Friday, November 10th and Saturday, November 11th's games at blueridgebobcats.com/tickets or by visiting https://www.showpass.com/blue-ridge-bobcats-home-games/.
