by Brett Wiseman

Wacky Wednesday in Wytheville was not kind to the homestanding Blue Ridge Bobcats, dropping their fourth game in a row, and tenth overall to the Carolina Thunderbirds by the final count of 6-2.

Joel Frazee gave the Bobcats a big breath of life less than two minutes into the second period, scoring unassisted on a solo breakaway for his 8th goal of the season to tie the game at 1. Carolina replied with a 4-spot in the middle frame to take a 5-1 lead into the locker room after 40 minutes.

Matt Ernst scored his first professional goal, sniping a wrist shot from the high slot past Mario Cavaliere for the second Blue Ridge goal of the game.

The Bobcats are back in action in just 48 hours when they host the Danbury Hat Tricks Friday night at 7:30.
