Blue Ridge Adds Standout Defenseman Cole Brennan for '26-27

WYTHEVILLE, VA-

The Blue Ridge Bobcats, proud members of the FPHL, are proud to announce the team has signed Defenseman Cole Brennan to a PTO for the 2026-2027 season.


The 5'10" 194lb Sussex, New Jersey native's junior career progressed through the USPHL's Premier and Prep programs, culminating in a successful final junior season with the EHL's Seahawks HC.

Brennan then moved on to collegiate play for the University of Southern Maine, and is coming off a stellar senior season in 2025-26. Brennan not only captained the club, but also became one of Southern Maine's top two-way defensemen. He led the Huskies' blue line in scoring with 14 points (2 goals, 12 assists) in 26 games while also ranking among the team's leaders in both hits and blocked shots. 

"We're very excited to add Cole to our D-core this season," said head coach and general manager Vojtech Zemlicka.

"Cole is a steady two-way defenseman whose consistency, hockey IQ, and reliability make him a valuable contributor in all three zones. He has great vision and puck composure, and embraces physical play while keeping an eye up to join the rush offensively. His leadership mentalities as a captain in college are something we value and his versatility in a variety of different situations is exactly what we're looking for in our D-core. We're excited to see him become a valuable asset to our team on the back end."
