Blue Ridge adds crashing defender with signing of Pro Yegor Dolkart

Wytheville VA - The Blue Ridge Bobcats are bringing in a crashing defender with the signing of Pro Yegor Dolkart to a professional Tryout.

Dolkart has spent the last four years playing in over 200 pro-level games in Europe. He works as a crashing defender to move the puck down the ice quickly and make plays out in the attacking third. The player you look at to make the first touch on the puck.

The 21-year-old Mogilev Belarus native started his professional career back in 2018 with the Team Belarus U17 team. Skating in 40 games that season and earning one goal, nine assists, and 10 points on the season. 

From there the young defenseman kept moving up in leagues playing for HK Mogilev, Bat Yam Ninjas, Holon Vipers, Dneprovskiye Lvy Mogilev, HC Bat Yam Chiefs, and Bat Yam Dolphins. Dolkart had his best season with the Dneprocskiye Lvy Mogilev where in 14 games he earned seven assists.

Dolkart's heads-up play and physicality were some of the things that caught the eye of Bobcats Head Coach Vojtech Zemlicka.

“Yegor is a very young player but he’s got a lot of experience in pro hockey. He’s played over 200 pro games in Europe and so he will bring the experience and leadership to this group we have over here. He stands out with his vision over the ice. Yegor is a very skilled defenseman, who makes next-level plays and he also likes the physical game. We’re building a strong D-core here in Blue Ridge, what I am most excited about and I mean overall this group of guys coming in for camps will be competitive. I know we’re in year one but I have a lot of expectations from these guys and that’s a reason why I am very selective on players we’re signing. I want guys here who want to compete as hard as they can, guys who want to move onto the next level, guys who want to bring a championship here in Blue Ridge and Yegor is definitely one of those guys who will help us to do that,” Zemlicka said.
