Blue Ridge Adds Big Blueliner Jake Jurgeneit in Pee Dee Dispersal Draft

WYTHEVILLE, VA-

With their second and final selection in today's Pee Dee IceCats Dispersal Draft, the Blue Ridge Bobcats, proud members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) have selected Defenseman Jake Jurgeneit.
The Simcoe, Ontario native began his career playing junior hockey in the CCHL and MHL. Jurgeneit then spent five seasons at Trinity Western University, where he developed into a dependable, shutdown defenseman known for his leadership and consistency.
In his first and only pro season so far in '25-26 with Pee Dee, the 6'2" 209lb blueliner showed his consistent and steady style of play mixed with an edge of physicality, tallying 3 points and 67 penalty minutes in 38 games (including playoffs).
"We're very excited to add a defenseman like Jake to our team for this season," said head coach and general manager Vojtech Zemlicka.
"Jake's game is built on toughness, puck composure, and reliability. He is hard to beat in any given situation and a very difficult guy to play against. Jake has tremendous upside and the ability to be an elite puck moving defenseman at this level. He uses his strength and high hockey IQ to play a steady style on the back end, which is exactly what we're looking for in our D-core."
